Antonio Vázquez, was born in Córdoba in 1951, was a Director of Iberia representing Logista between 2005 and 2007. A graduate in economics from Málaga University, he joined Tabacalera in April 1993 as Head of Development of the International Business, having previously amassed a wealth of experience in foreign trade for fifteen years at various companies in the consumer goods industry, such as the Osborne and Domecq Groups, where he held various executive posts. In December 1996 he became General Manager of the Cigar Division, a position which he held until May 2005 and in which he is regarded as having been the chief mastermind behind the leading global position built up by Altadis in that industry.
In May 2005 he was appointed as Chairman of the Board and, one month later, as Chairman of the Executive Committee and CEO of the Altadis Group. He was also appointed as Chairman of Logista and as a Director of Iberia.
In January 2008, he resigned as Chairman of the Altadis Group. In June 2008 he was appointed as a director of Telefónica Internacional.
On July 9, 2009, he was named Executive Chairman of Iberia.
