Did you know?

…THAT EVERY YEAR MILLIONS OF PEOPLE CHOOSE AIR TRAVEL TO REACH THEIR HOLIDAY DESTINATIONS?

SPAINEUROPEAFRICAAMERICA ---IBERIA OFFERS MORE THAN A HUNDRED DESTINATIONS AROUND THE WORLD SO YOU CAN CHOOSE THE ONE YOU LIKE BEST.

HERE WE WILL GIVE YOU SOME HINTS FOR GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TRIP, WHEREVER YOU GO, AND EVEN BEFORE YOU GET THERE

Where can I find the best offers?

Iberia offers a wide range of fares on www.iberia.com.

If you know your destination and your travel dates...

...just select them in the search window at the left of the page. Choose the option “My dates are flexible” to find the lowest fares on the days before and after.

If you have a destination, but the dates don't matter...

...click on the central part of the page, selecting the geographical zone you want: Spain, Europe or the Americas. Each click will bring you closer, until you get to “flights from Madrid to Amman”, for instance. A drawing with bars will show the days when you can fly with the lowest fares.

If what you want is to enjoy a different kind of Saturday, leaving early in the morning and returning late at night ...

...for 34 euros each way Iberia offers you 49 domestic destinations, and for 59 euros each way you can fly from certain Spanish destinations to spend the day in the Canary Islands. In the central area of the page, click on Saturday Getaway

For a weekend getaway anywhere....

....Iberia also has special deals for you. On the left of the page, but a little further down, you'll find the "Quick Links" box, and in it, click on “Weekend breaks” to see the most economical flights for the upcoming weekends, leaving on Fridays and returning on Sunday, though you can also choose to stretch them from Thursdays to Mondays.

Just choose the cities of origin and destination in Spain or elsewhere in Europe (because of the brevity of the trip, only short and medium-haul flights are shown) and you will see map with the best options.

You don't know where to go, but you do know how much you can afford.

On www.iberia.com you can also Search by budget –it's the next option down after Weekend breaks. Just set a maximum ticket price, choose a destination or a region (like "Europe" of "Spanish coasts"), add the outgoing and return flight dates, with a flexibility of up to seven days. Or you can simply ask for the most economic combination of dates in the month you choose. It is easy, isn’t it?

The ticket

Nowadays all air tickets are electronic. The customer receives an email message with the reservation data. Remember that you don't need to print this message and take it to the airport. All you need is to present your official identity document or passport (depending on the destination) at the check-in counter

But you should read the email message carefully,

  • Check to make sure the name, date and destination are correct.
  • Look for the 6-character reservation booking code, which you'll need to check in for your flight on line, select your seat, and print your boarding card.
  • Baggage allowance included in ticket price
  • Terminal of departure and arrival.

Baggage allowance

You can also check the baggage allowance for your flight on www.iberia.com. Click on the “Information” tag near the top, and then “Before Traveling”"Baggage".

Online check-in

For no additional cost you can obtain your boarding card online from www.iberia.com, and even choose your seat. Just click on Online check-in and follow the instructions.

How early must I go to the airport?

Airports can be very busy places in the summer season and we recommend giving yourself some extra margin for all pre-flight procedures.

  • For long-haul flights (across the Atlantic or from/to South Africa), you should check in al leas two hours before departure time.
  • For short and medium flights (within Spain, to the rest of Europe, and to North Africa), you should check in at least 90 minutes before your flight.

Remember that if you are travelling to the USA or Puerto Rico, you must have the electronic travel authorisation (ESTA) required by U.S. authorities. This authorization can be obtained only through the web site https:/esta.cbp.dhs.gov.

Also, remember that you must come to the boarding gates al least 20 minutes before your flight is scheduled to take off. You should check the information panels at the airport to see if there has been any last-minute change to your flight.

Tips for a more comfortable and healthful flight

To prevent the discomfort caused by changes in atmospheric pressure, you should avoid heavy or flatulent meals the day before your flight.

During takeoff and landing of the aircraft your may feel pressure in your ears. To avoid discomfort. close you nose with your fingers and exhale gently but without expelling the air. Other remedies are to blow your nose with a handkerchief or chew gum.

Inside the aircraft humidity is lower than normal, and your skin may feel dry. It helps to drink plenty of water of fruit juice, and even to use a moisturising cream.

It is recommended that you keep your seat belt fastened during the flight.

Some people suffer more than others from changing time zones. The best way to avoid jet lag is to try to adapt to the time zone of your destination before you travel.

Your feet and lower legs may swell if you remain seated for long periods. The best way to avoid this is by doing some simple exercises, as pictured here.
